Electronic Signing of Contracts in the IS EDC
Dear Market Participants,
We would like to inform you that, effective as of 17th February 2026, a new functionality enabling electronic signing of contracts is available in the EDC system.
The introduction of this service aims to streamline and accelerate processes related to the contract conclusion, in compliance with the legislation of the Slovak Republic and Regulation (EU) No. 910/2014 (eIDAS).
Electronic Signing Procedure:
- Signing link:
Once the contract has been approved in the EDC system, you will receive an email containing a secure link to the document to be signed.
- Type of signature:
- Simple Electronic Signature:
This signature is completed by verification using an SMS code, sent to the mobile phone number registered in the EDC system. Before signing, the system will require you to confirm or, if necessary, update your mobile phone number.
- Qualified Electronic Signature:
This type of signature is carried out using your qualified certificate issued by a trusted certification authority.
- Signing the Document:
The signature is confirmed either by entering the verification SMS code (for the Simple Electronic Signature) or by attaching your qualified certificate (for the Qualified Electronic Signature).
Before using this functionality, we recommend:
- Verifying that your mobile phone number and e-mail address registered in the EDC system are up to date.
- If you intend to use a Qualified Electronic Signature, installing the NFQES Desktop Toolkit.
